Rotten House
Guest was forged out of a studio project that began in 1992. The
band's locally self released album "First Time Round" (June
of 1996) became the launching pad of events to follow.
By the following September of 1996 the band had found themselves opening
up for national recording artists such as The
Toadies ("Possum
Kingdom", "I Come From the Water"), Goldfinger
("Here In My Bedroom") and The
Why Store ("Lack of
Water"). Although the band no longer records or performs, all
of the members stay in touch and have remained best of friends to this day. |
![]() This is a photo of me and Steve Smith the drummer from Journey. Steve was putting on a drum clinic at Mars Music. He was playing with the Buddy Rich Big Band that night. The store asked me to hang with Steve all day and help him set up his kit and stuff like that. Steve to say the least is an unbelievable player. It was a great experience to hang with him all day and talk with him. I asked him about playing with Journey, his experience studying with different teachers and his love for big band and fusion music. He is a great guy and I learned allot that day. |
![]() This is me and Alan White the drummer for Yes. I met Alan at the E center. He is a great guy and spent about a half an hour talking with me. He signed a Yes tour book for me and allowed me to take a photo of his drum kit while I stood on top of his drum riser. Yes put on a amazing show that night. Afterwards I spoke with Alan a few minutes, complimented him on the show and thanked him for taking the time to speak with me. He said " it was his pleasure and he hoped we could do it again". |
![]() This is me and Doane Perry the drummer for Jethro Tull. I got to meet Doane at the Sellersville Theatre in Sellersville, Pa. The guitarist for Jethro Tull Martin Barre was doing a show with a Songwriter / guitarist named Willie Porter. I didn't know if Martin and Willie were playing alone or if they had a band etc. When I walked in the theatre, the first person I saw was Doane Perry. He was standing by the bar getting some water. I had been trying to meet him at many Tull shows and I never was able to. So its strange the way things happen but there he was. I went up to Doane, shook his hand and asked him if I could take a photo with him. He was very nice and took the photo. When the show started it turned out that the whole band from Tull was there with the exception of Ian Anderson. They put on a great show. The theatre only held about 500 max. After the show the band was actually breaking down their own gear etc. Doane was behind his kit breaking it down. I started talking with him about how his drum kit sounded that night and I was asking him about his snare drum. The next thing you know he said come up on the stage and check it out. I was blown away. I went up on stage and we were talking for a while. That was the first time someone like that asked me up on stage to chat and talk drums. I have found out that going to see shows like that in small theatres allows you to meet allot of great musicians and bands without being hassled by the rock star thing. Doane and the band are really down to earth guys and like to speak to the fans.
This is me and Danny Seraphine who was the original drummer for the band Chicago. I saw Danny recently at the 15 North in Philadelphia. His new band C T A (California Transit Authority) played amazing renditions of classic Chicago tunes.Danny who was let go in a not so nice manner by his former band is back with a vengeance. He is playing better than ever and then some. He is a very friendly warm person who stopped to talk with fans before he played and afterwards as well. His band has a few members that played with bands like Tesla, & Keith Emerson Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer just tore it up and made it look easy. It was a really great night (especially if your a drummer) to hear a truly great musician playing his heart out after having his heart torn from him.
